First day of voting.... where do you want to go?

Voting will be from 7:00 am to 6:00 am (CST) the next day. Unless I oversleep. Or forget. Then it will be later.

So, where do you want to go?
Vote ---------------------------->

Freedom: Pennsylvania vs. Nebraska
How will reigning champ do against the cowboys of Nebraska? Last year we visited a rainy Philadelphia. If Pennsylvania was to win again would we try Pittsburgh? Or, could we be having our meeting collecting wildflowers in an open field of Nebraska while hunting windmills?
Vote ---------------------------->

Independence: Kentucky vs. Maine
We have a lot of readers in Kentucky while I think Maine has very few to none. Will we hit the home state of Heather and Katie or will be dipping into Maine's lobster feast?
Vote ---------------------------->

Liberty: Texas vs. Delaware
The big Lone Star State battles Delaware. Heck, we could probably visit a bunch of state if Delaware wins. If Texas wins we could host in here in our hometown of the DFW metroplex or we could head south to Austin and visit Chaotic. Don't forget about Woodside Farm Creamery that we learned about last year... it's in Delaware and you know how Claudia loves ice cream. I mean... who doesn't?

Today is contest day!

This week visited Delaware, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Wyoming, West Virginia and Louisiana.

Tera stopped by on Tuesday to give us some inside information on the Erie area. Be sure to check that out. Tera and Treye are making their way to matrimonial bliss tomorrow and I know we all wish them well.

But, before everyone takes off for the wedding, all passengers from the above mentioned states should report to their appropriate decks and tell us what makes your state the Taste of USA!

Up next week is Florida, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, South Carolina and Wisconsin.

Welcome to the First State

Yes, Delaware was the very first state of these wonderful United States. It is also the second smallest state in the union.

I had a boyfriend years ago that is from Delaware. Ian Bunch, if you're out there... a big hello to you. Hope you're doing well.

But let's find some places to visit in Delaware. And, in honor of Claudia's journey through ice cream this month, let's stop at Woodside Farm Creamery. They make they're ice cream with the milk with from the cows on the farm. They also make fudge! Yum!

We're going to step back in time when we go to Delaware Agricultural Museum & Village. It's a town that is stuck in the 1890's. Our adventure is to discover how they lived daily life. As long as it's only for a couple of hours... I'm in. I'm sure it will make us grateful for all we have.

I never realized how close Wilmington is to Philadelphia and it looks like I have to be careful with Wilmington advertising Philadelphia events. Let's get started at the Brandywine Zoo. They are currently celebrating the Year of the Frog. Then we can hop on over Rockwood Park to explore 72 acres of park or museum. Maybe we should schedule a Tea from the Butler's Pantry or take a Ghost Tour. If you've had enough of history we can visit Riverfront Wilmington where there's a lot of dining, arts, entertainment, and sports!

Heading south to the beach we can find any number of deep sea fishing charters. I randomly chose AJ Sport Fishing with Captain Bob. Let's catch dinner!

The fun facts for Delaware are state flower is Peach Blossom, the state bird is Blue Hen Chicken, and the state tree is the American Holly.

All Delawareans meet on the Deck Number 1 on Friday, July 11th to tell us what makes Delaware the Taste of USA!
